Why on earth is your practice called Sage and Pine Therapy?
I named my practice Sage and Pine Therapy with both practical and sentimental intentions.
On a practical level, words have the power to evoke emotions and imagery. For me, ‘Sage’ represents calm and wisdom, while ‘Pine’ symbolizes resilience, strength, and fortitude. These are words that align with my values as a therapist.
Beyond that, Sage and Pine (or more specifically, pinecone) hold deep personal significance, as they are tied to a story about a truly remarkable person who has profoundly shaped my journey.
And thus, Sage and Pine Therapy was named. Thanks for being curious!
About Me
My journey has always been deeply connected to supporting others through their struggles. Growing up around individuals facing mental health challenges and addiction gave me firsthand insight into resilience, hardship, and the transformative power of compassionate care. These experiences naturally led me into both personal and professional caregiving, where I have seen firsthand how an individual’s personal history shapes the way they navigate life and support others. Through this process, I have witnessed the challenges and complexities of human connection, drawing from the lessons learned and continuing to apply them in purposeful ways.
During my education and training as a therapist, I’ve worked with individuals facing diverse challenges such as hoarding disorder, panic disorders, caregiver burnout, anxiety, depression, and chronic trauma. Not one person’s story has been the same as the others. Each experience has deepened my understanding of healing, change, and the importance of meeting people where they are. This foundation shapes my therapeutic approach, creating a space of empathy, patience, and meaningful support.
